There is an abundance of cowslips and bluebells in the garden, the apple tree is in blossom on one side and the quince tree is fully in blossom. The forget me nots are out and so are there dark pink tulips.
I have been look forward to my Pump Street Bakery chocolate for ages and had some for my Easter present. It was a great treat and interesting to compare the complex flavours of the two bars.
After a brisk and breezy constitutional around the village, we toasted Pump Street Bakery hot cross buns, their soft enticing smell filling the room.
I made Diana Henry’s almond and saffron cake with golden-raisin syrup, served with some Marybelle Dairy creme fraiche to celebrate Easter, the golden yellow tones, signifying for me, the optimism of the year to come.
